LBJ Library Exhibits and Redesign Update

Plan Your Visit to the LBJ Library in 2012!
Here’s Your Timeline for the Redesign and a List of New Exhibits.
Major Redesign Project is Underway.

For the rest of this year, there will be construction on the three public exhibit floors of the Library, giving the interior a completely new look and feel.

The LBJ Library will remain open throughout the construction; however, parts of the Library will be closed at times. Because construction work can be unpredictable, please check the Library’s website, www.lbjlibrary.org, for updates on construction.

While the redesign is underway, you will have the opportunity to enjoy several new, temporary exhibits.

Current – March 25: Etched Memory: Icons of American Photography at the Briscoe Center. This exhibit features ten iconic photographs that help define the American visual memory of the last 70 years.
(Location: lobby outside the elevators on the 4th floor.)

Current – March 25: United States Secret Service. This exhibit chronicles the history of the Secret Service and pays tribute to the heroic special agents who put their lives on the line.
(Location: Great Hall.)

February 25 – March 25: Artwork from The Lorax. To coincide with the release of a new Lorax 3D film, the Library will display ten of the original drawings made by Dr. Seuss for The Lorax book.

The section of the Brooklyn Museum that ipadlsys “The Dinner Party” by Judy Chicago is called The Elizabeth A. Sackler Center for Feminist Art. In addition to the Chicago piece, the Center presents temporary exhibitions, among “Kiki Smith: Sojourn” opening February 12 and “Healing the Wounds of War: The Brooklyn Sanitary Fair of 1864″, opening on January 29.
